About Chanan Development Association (CDA)
Chanan Development Association (CDA) is a national youth-led organization, striving for meaningful participation and empowerment of youth since 2004 as a theatre group and registered in 2006 under Societies Registration Act 1860.
CDA envisions a healthy, just, democratic and peaceful society.
Our Mission
The mission of CDA is to empower young people ensuring their meaningful participation at each and every level of program/policy development and decision-making without discrimination on any basis for the creation of a healthy, just, democratic and peaceful society.
Our Outreach
Based in Lahore, Chanan Development Association (CDA) is working in 110 districts across Pakistan through its network of 360 youth-led organizations, 15,000 active volunteers and more than 100,000 peer educators across Pakistan.
Annual Event
The National Youth Peace Festival is our annual flagship event. Started since 2010, the event has brought together more then 5,000 young people from across Pakistan.
The first goal of the organization is to organize youth particularly young women into groups and build their capacity as “Agents of Change” for bringing sustainable development in their communities
The second goal of the organization is to serve as a resource center for youth-led and youth-served groups and organizations and provide them a platform for networking, resource sharing and joint initiatives
The third goal of the organization is to do policy advocacy engaging media, parliamentarians and society at large for creating enabling environment for young people
Chanan Development Association (CDA) was formed by group of young activists in 2004.
